Manhattan Ennui is from a series I've done and continue to do in the Art Deco style of the 1920's and 1930's. This blonde woman with marcel waved hair, bright blue eyes and vivid red lips could be any starlet or debutante of the 1930's. I love the word ennui which is a more chic way of interpreting being bored or lethargic.

I paint in a slightly exaggerated, stylized way using geometric and curvilnear shapes and lines. I am most inspired by cinema and the Golden Age of Hollywood which encompasses the Art Deco and Mid Century Eras. My work is considered to be glamorous and people most remember my artwork by the way I paint eyes. My favorite medium is acrylic although I also do colored pencil, ink and digital artwork, as well. My love for Architecture and Design is equal to the love I have for Fine Art. I love the world of art and I hope you enjoy what I've created.
